Partnership with Stitcher Announced

Major American podcast platform Stitcher have announced that they are sponsoring a category at the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards. Stitcher will be presenting the inaugural Investigative Journalism & True Crime podcast category.

"We've been listening to and loving the different types of podcasts coming out of Australia," says Erik Diehn, CEO of Stitcher, "Getting behind this new category is a great way of connecting with Australian podcasters and their global audiences."

Recognising the rapid growth in investigative journalism and true crime podcasts created by major media organisations and journalists in the past couple of years, the national podcasting awards is catering to this through the creation of this category.

"We look forward to working with Stitcher on awarding the best in Australian investigative journalism and true crime podcasting," says Dave Gertler, Australian Podcast Awards founder.

Stitcher podcast platform and associated companies Midroll Media and Earwolf, have been pioneers in podcasting for over 10 years, and have had a strong focus on journalism and true crime storytelling via Stitcher Originals content.
